Leg weakness in over the road truck driver

Man in his 50's complained of weak left leg.  The leg would go out on him everytime he tried to go up stairs or down stairs. Hiking in the mountains while hunting was his passion.  He was terrified that he would not be able to hunt again.

Clinically he had a dissociated seventh cranial nerve. This sensory nervous system issue was causing his vastus lateralis{ quadriceps] to not communicate properly with his brain.  Therefore everytime he would go to use the muscle over a certain load it would go weak.

We discovered that thru out all his years of driving over the road in a semi truck he had his drivers window down to remove the odor from smoking.  We reset his cranial nerve, instructed him to close his window and open all the other windows, and turn the air-conditioning vent away from his face.

He returned for a follow up exam two weeks later.  He was able to climb the mountains with out an problem.  He could go up and down the stairs, truck etc.
